My Very First Blog Post

What am I doing?!!! I swore I would never start a blog. I don't even like to write!!! I've been meaning to start up a website for awhile now where I can show off my work. There are so many choices, so many fees. Maybe I'll start here and see where this takes me.

This little adventure started when I looked up a blog to check someone else out. There were links to "this site" and "that site" and one thing led to another and now here I am....wondering to myself, "What in the heck am I doing?!" I think my goal will be to keep things short and sweet in here. And most likely my eldest son will be my biggest critiquer.

These first images were taken in the city of Chicago, of course. The American Gothic statue is displayed by the river off Michigan Ave. On this particular evening I was out with my friend Critter that I also refer to as "my assistant", to meet up with other fellow photogs from the ChiFlickr group to shoot in and around Millennium Park. We got to the city early enough to catch the fireworks on the river that take place every Saturday evening a 6:30pm in February.

Most importantly in all of this, I got a new "toy" to play with, nothing fancy just something to play with until I can afford "the real thing", a wide angle/fisheye attachment. It's definitely on my wish list!!!

So, how did I do? :o)
